Bulletproof Glass

Bulletproof glass, also known as ballistic glass or safety glass, is a highly durable type of glass designed to resist bullets and strong impacts. It is thicker and heavier than ordinary glass and is made from multiple layers of glass and resistant plastic materials such as polycarbonate or PVB.

Structure of Bulletproof Glass

  • Glass Layers: Usually made of tempered glass with higher resistance than regular glass.
  • Plastic Layers: Transparent polymer materials like polycarbonate or PVB absorb and distribute bullet impact energy.

How It Works

When a bullet hits the glass, its energy is absorbed and dispersed through the layers. The outer glass layers may crack, but the strong plastic layers prevent the bullet from penetrating.

Applications

  • Banks, jewelry stores, embassies, and government buildings
  • Armored and security vehicles
  • Luxury store showcases and museums
  • Military and security environments

💡 Summary:

Bulletproof glass provides high security and protection through its multilayer structure and impact-resistant materials.
